One word sums up JoAnne Liebeler’s career: television. A nationally recognized expert on home improvement, she has hosted four television series in the home improvement and design genre. As a producer and project manager, she has served as an executive producer on a Travel Channel series, developed and pitched television shows, produced and wrote programs, and managed dozens of video projects. Her credits include History Channel, TLC, HGTV, PBS, DIY, Fox, and the Travel Channel.
Her home improvement expertise was tapped by Sunset Books when she was invited to author JoAnne Liebeler’s Do It Herself: Everything You Need to Know to Fix, Maintain, and Improve Your Home and contributed to Big Ideas for Small Spaces.
Although she is recognized for her expertise in the home building industry, Liebeler has a passion for comedy. Each year she directs and partially writes comedic material for one of Minneapolis-Saint Paul’s most popular revues, Minn Roast, featuring the state’s leading journalists and politicians.
While living in Los Angeles, she was only female writer on a syndicated sketch comedy series called The Newz. She has performed in improvisational comedy troupes in both Los Angeles and Minneapolis, and has had comedic roles in sitcoms and feature films.
Liebeler is committed to service work and currently volunteers for Interfaith Outreach and Community Partners and has served as the communications co-chair for church. She also serves on the Board of Directors for NCHH (National Center for Healthy Housing) and is the president of Minnesota Women in Film and Television (MN WIFT).
