Internship Program

NCHH is now offering paid internships to highly capable applicants who are looking for a rewarding work environment and are interested in science, policy, and the transformation of communities.

The opportunities include serving as lead contact on high-visibility projects, learning the principles of healthy homes, participating in study processes, serving as data and quality assurance (QA) managers, developing data collection tools, performing data entry and analysis, conducting literature reviews, conducting research and environmental scans to support the writing of academic and nonacademic papers, participating with the project managers and partners in conference calls and meetings, and more.

Project Coordinator

NCHH is seeking a project coordinator to support NCHH’s technical assistance and evaluation work with the New York State Department of Health’s Childhood Lead Poisoning Primary Prevention Program (CLPPPP), under the supervision of the project manager. The position will also be responsible for supporting other research, program, and policy projects in collaboration with one or more of NCHH’s project managers and NCHH's executive director.

The ideal candidate will be assertive, motivated, and able to work well with limited supervision as well as cooperatively with a myriad of different types of partners. This is a full-time, contract-dependent position with benefits based out of NCHH’s Columbia, MD, office. Limited travel may be involved. EOE.

The National Center for Healthy Housing was founded in October 1992 (as the National Center for Lead-Safe Housing), to bring the public health, housing, and environmental communities together to combat our nation’s epidemic of childhood lead poisoning. Today, NCHH’s mission is to secure safe and healthy housing for all. NCHH conducts research on methods to assess hazards in the home and on measures to reduce those hazards. NCHH designs practical strategies to incorporate healthy housing practices into the work of the public health and affordable housing communities. NCHH promotes these strategies through education and outreach, partnership programs, and governmental initiatives.
