Project Coordinator

The National Center for Healthy Housing seeks an experienced project coordinator to help advance the organization’s mission to create safe and healthy homes for all. This position is primarily responsible for supporting NCHH’s technical assistance and evaluation work with the New York State Department of Health’s Childhood Lead Poisoning Primary Prevention Program (CLPPPP) under the supervision of the project manager. The position will also be responsible for supporting other research, program, and policy projects in collaboration with one or more of NCHH’s project managers and NCHH's executive director.

The ideal candidate will be assertive, motivated, and able to work well with limited supervision as well as cooperatively with a myriad of different types of partners. This is a full-time, contract-dependent position with benefits based out of NCHH’s Columbia, MD office. Limited travel may be involved.

Responsibilities

  • Work with project team to organize, schedule, arrange travel logistics, plan content, and develop materials for multiple CLPPPP grantee meetings, webinars, and site visits scheduled throughout each year;
  • Triage grantee requests for technical assistance and ensure that grantees receive appropriate and timely follow-up;
  • Assist project team in technical assistance, performance management, and quality improvement initiatives supporting CLPPPP grantee efforts;
  • Contribute to the development of technical briefs assisting grantees with programmatic, policy, evaluation, and communication activities;
  • Engage in project team efforts to identify best practices for establishing and building partnerships and developing peer-to-peer mentoring opportunities;
  • Contribute to the hosting, managing, and expansion of secure, web-based file sharing websites containing pertinent grantee resources, dynamic communication and sharing plug-ins, and customizable materials for grantee communications;
  • Support, assist, and problem-solve with the project team, the grantees, and NYSDOH in data collection, analysis, and reporting of data for program evaluation
  • Join project team in the ongoing development and implementation of a customized data management and reporting system (CoInspect);
  • Respond with project team to CLPPPP grantee requests for support in using CoInspect via face-to-face training, distance learning, webinars, individualized consultation to grantees on a regular schedule, or other correspondence;
  • Participate in development of communications and social media content regarding project activity;
  • Draft documentation to satisfy periodic contract reporting requirements;
  • Create presentations, letters, articles, and other data-driven content;
  • Other duties may include: performing quality control for research projects; conducting research such as literature reviews and identifying data sources to support evaluation, reporting, advocacy, and technical assistance activities; providing similar coordination tasks to other NCHH initiatives.
Skills and Experience
  • Three years of relevant work experience in public health, environmental health, social work or a related discipline or Bachelor’s or Masters degree plus at least one year of relevant experience;
  • Experience in project coordination;
  • Exceptional skill working with Microsoft Office products including: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word;
  • Strong computer skills, and an ability to learn new software and applications quickly (e.g., CoInspect, GoToMeeting, Adobe Connect, Survey Monkey)
  • Experience conducting online research and gathering information from a variety of sources, and evaluating and synthesizing the information;
  • Strong verbal and writing skills, including the ability to write clearly and quickly for general and technical audiences and the ability to make public presentations. Experience creating content for social media is not required, but valued.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others, and to work independently;
  • Resourcefulness, initiative, and willingness to learn and adapt one’s style to varying projects and personalities also highly valued;
  • Experience working with federal, state, and local governmental and/or nonprofit organizations;
  • Experience and/or interest in working with program evaluation or research design, development and implementation a plus.
