House Omnibus Appropriations Bill Includes Increased Funding for HUD and CDC Healthy Homes

1/14/2014

The House Omnibus Appropriations Bill, which will be the vehicle for funding the federal government through September 30, 2014, includes $15 million for CDC's Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program, $110 million  for HUD's Office of Healthy Homes and Lead Hazard Control - of which $15 million is for the Healthy Homes Initiative, $174 million for Weatherization, $8 million in State and Tribal Assistance Grants for the Radon Program, and $24 million for CDC's Asthma Control Program. After the House moves the Bill it will go over to Senate for concurrence. The restoration of the CDC funding is especially remarkable and heartwarming. Thanks to all for your advocacy and to our allies in the House and Senate.
